I made a custom bag for a customer friend, named Kristin. She wanted a one strap over the shoulder messanger style bag, that held all of the stuff she would need as a busy mom to two that didn't look like a standard diaper bag. We came up with this design (and the pictures do not nearly look as nice as the bag itself does!). I liked it so much that I made two, one for Kristin, and one for etsy. The outside has an exterior pocket that runs the width of the bag as well as an interior pocket. There is a magnetic snap closure on it. I really like this bag, and I hope my new friend Kristin will as well!

Aprons aprons aprons
- Here is the collection of hostess aprons I created. They measure 23 x 18 and are fully reversible. Some have 3 pockets, some have one on each side, it really just depended on how much of what fabric I had in my stash. All of the ties are handmade double fold binding.
Even more aprons
- These are a bit more flouncy than the hostess aprons. They measure abot 36" at their widest point across the bottom. They are fully reversible (as opposed to partially?). The ties are extra long and will wrap around to the front to tie.

- each set of 4 placemats is made of 3 layers. They measure 18x14 and are backed with a heavy weight cotton canvas.

Today's project
The Chloe Dress.
I name it this, because I used a Tina Givens fabric called "Cloe". This is a size 18-24 months and it is a modification of the dress I made yesterday. I thinned out the straps, and narrowed the yoke to give this dress a slightly different look. I also made it in the opposite colors you see here, but haven't gotten to to pictures yet! I am thinking of making a coordinating pair of ruffle pants for underneath it, but don't know yet. As always, it is listed on etsy, and you can find it here.

a good day
so, in addition to finishing the wrap skirt, as you can see on model Anna above. I also made a baby dress. I listed it on etsy, but as with many of my creations, I made it in a size that one of my kids just happens to wear in case it doesn't sell quickly.
The bodice is lined with coordinating fabric and while the dress isn't reversible per se, you could switch the front and back direction.
It is about a 6-9 month size, but because of the tie straps, I would say it could go a few months larger or smaller.
child's wrap skirt
So, I finally had enough of Anna complaining that I never make anything for her (even though Isabelle only got one pair of ruffled jeans and Grace has those little fleece pants). To prove I am not the meanest mom in the whole world, I made Anna a fleece lined wrap skirt. I think it turned out super cute and will look adorable when paired with a (hopefully clean) pair of white tights and a turtle neck.
I will post pictures of it actually on her when she gets home from school. In the meantime...enjoy. It is fully lined with fleece, and would be reversible if I had designed the ties a bit differently.

well, that was fun!!
whew! It is with a sigh of relief that I officially announce that we finished at the Quaker Arts festival. It was a ton of fun, and a ton of work - but I really enjoyed every minute of it (okay, maybe not those few minutes the baby decided to lay down her own soundtrack with the crying and carrying on). Tina and I had a blast. Speaking of Tina, here she is at the festival.

babypeas does quaker arts
hmm, that tag line sounds a little risque.
seriously - this weekend my crafty friend Tina and I are joining forces over at the Quaker Arts Festival. While both Tina and I have been crafting for over a year, this is our first time trying our hand at such a large venue. Estimated attendance is close to 75,000 visitors over two days. I will be selling oodles of quilts, burp cloths, aprons, and bags (pictures of those soon I promise) stop on by and say hi if you are in the area!
If you are hitting this page as a result of seeing my work this weekend, leave a note in the comments section. I am interested in seeing how well my charming personality and adorable business cards work at driving traffic to this site. I will be raffeling off a tote bag or hostess apron to one of the commentors at the end of the weekend.
Oh, and here is my attempt at painting my babypeas sign. It is a good thing I work in textiles as opposed to paint I think. Although the adorable Anna makes up for my lack of paintbrush skills.
