babypeas ~ such pretty things ~

1/2 a yard of fabric and an afternoon...

wow, my first sewing entry in a while!  The other day I got some of Patty Young's new Anda Lucia fabric in, and today I decided to see what I could make from 1/2 a yard of fabric.  I had such a hard time trying to decide how to use this really beautiful piece of fabric, but in the end I made an 84" woman's scarf (the reverse side is a wide wale corduroy)...

I also made a couple of key fobs, and a business card holder/mini wallet.

  In addition to my fuun sewing projects, I managed to get a few things listed on etsy.  There has to be a quicker way to do this because it seemed to take me forever to get 7 things listed.

I am a horrible blogger

it has been almost a month since i last posted.  I do have some new and super cute stuff made, but alas, I have not taken pictures of it yet.  I did make a lightbox this morning to help make taking pictures easier!  Rest assured good photos will be on display shortly.  Until then, I leave you with some adorable pictures of Grace.

I will post more pictures later of this outfit, but I wanted to get at least one up there to show off my Sandi Henderson "Gracie" dress and coordinating ruffle pants set that I made from Erin Morris Park Slope collection fabric.  I love this outfit!  I definetly need to take some better pictures of it though. 

Tina and I did the Indie Market yesterday.  Let's just say that 75 degree tempuratures, two other  MAJOR craft fairs in the area, and a Bills bye week do not combine to equal good attendance at the market.  The music was really good this month though.  The girls were charming (and total weirdos) with their dancing to both of the bands.  They even managed to get one of the bands to pose for a picture with them.   

I think today we are heading over to Tina's house for a non sewing play date.  At least I think we are going to her house, I hope we are not all coming here, that would require some cleaning on my part and I am just not up for that!

So, today's project was supposed to be a Sandi Henderson pattern called "Gracie".  All went swimmingly until I got to the most confusing bodice/yoke directions I had ever seen.  Actually, the directions were fine, it was my mental block that prevented me from being able to figure it out.  All is not lost however, I salvaged the dress into a super cute twirly skirt, and will tackle the bodice another day!

   

 

I also finished up these super cute dinosaur reversible pants in about a 12 month size.

Back from North Carolina - and a new creation!

We are back from our wonderful trip to the wedding of our dear friends Bob and Angie.  It was so much fun!  5 days in the beautiful North Carolina fall weather is enough to make me relocate! 

Before we left, I bought Gracie a pair of babylegs leg warmers from target for $13 or so.  They were adorable on her, and it was so convenient for diaper changes.  Of course I liked them so much that I decided I had to figure out how to make some... without further ado - here is the babypeas version of baby legwarmers!  As always, you can find them in my etsy shop! 

 

 

we also discovered that they would fit perfectly (and look super cute) as a pair of arm warmers for an almost 7 year old.

The Kristin Bag

I made a custom bag for a customer friend, named Kristin.  She wanted a one strap over the shoulder messanger style bag, that held all of the stuff she would need as a busy mom to two that didn't look like a standard diaper bag.  We came up with this design (and the pictures do not nearly look as nice as the bag itself does!).  I liked it so much that I made two, one for Kristin, and one for etsy.  The outside has an exterior pocket that runs the width of the bag as well as an interior pocket.  There is a magnetic snap closure on it.  I really like this bag, and I hope my new friend Kristin will as well!

     

Today's project

  The Chloe Dress.

I name it this, because I used a Tina Givens fabric called "Cloe".  This is a size 18-24 months and it is a modification of the dress I made yesterday.  I thinned out the straps, and narrowed the yoke to give this dress a slightly different look.  I also made it in the opposite colors you see here, but haven't gotten to to pictures yet!  I am thinking of making a coordinating pair of ruffle pants for underneath it, but don't know yet.  As always, it is listed on etsy, and you can find it here.

a good day

so, in addition to finishing the wrap skirt, as you can see on model Anna above.  I also made a baby dress.  I listed it on etsy, but as with many of my creations, I made it in a size that one of my kids just happens to wear in case it doesn't sell quickly.

The bodice is lined with coordinating fabric and while the dress isn't reversible per se, you could switch the front and back direction. 

It is about a 6-9 month size, but because of the tie straps, I would say it could go a few months larger or smaller.

So, I finally had enough of Anna complaining that I never make anything for her (even though Isabelle only got one pair of ruffled jeans and Grace has those little fleece pants).  To prove I am not the meanest mom in the whole world, I made Anna a fleece lined wrap skirt.  I think it turned out super cute and will look adorable when paired with a (hopefully clean) pair of white tights and a turtle neck.

I will post pictures of it actually on her when she gets home from school.  In the meantime...enjoy.  It is fully lined with fleece, and would be reversible if I had designed the ties a bit differently.

 

pants pants pants

well, to be exact there should only be two "pants" in the title.  I made Gracie a pair of fleece lined reversible pants yesterday, and I made Isabelle my first attempt at those cute ruffled jeans that everyone likes so much.
